What a mom will do for her children

You'll never guess what I found myself doing for my oldest son Samuel. No really, you'll never guess. While at gym (homeschool weekly activity), I sat on the side bench sewing Samuel's jockey strap.... :/ He had a hockey game today after gym and his "cup" would fall out because of the large hole so instead of spending money on another one... I walked into the university gym with my sewing kit, a flashy yellow fishing toolbox, and sewed his jockey strap. Slightly embarrassing.

The other night, I read of another mom who did something that might of been slightly imbarrassing. Read on....

Matthew 20:20"Then came to Him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping Him, and desiring a certain thing of Him. And he said unto her, "what wilt thou?" She saith unto Him, Grant that these my two sons may sit , the one on thy right hand , and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. But Jesus answered and said, "Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" they say unto him, we are able."

(Here's the part where you have the impression maybe she shouldn't of asked that.)

"Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father."

Yikes....

It's easy for us to think she was bold and maybe even a little...duh!... to ask something like that because, we know what cup Jesus is reffering to ("let this cup pass from me" in the Garden of Gathsemeny). Are we not a little bold and ...dumb... sometimes?

It's good to want to serve God more and want to be closer to Him but like a friend once told me, "when before the Lord, it's best to come in low". We need to come before God humbly and trust Him with our welfare.

I highly suggest you bring your children's needs and future before God in prayer. They face a world that is ungodly, uncaring and violent. May I suggest to pray that God would give them a servants heart; wanting to put other before themselves, a desire for more of Him, descernement for choosing the right friends and future mate and most of all an understanding of God's free gift of salvation?

Remember your children when coming before the Lord.
