(This is something the Lord showed me one morning during my devotions, I saved it in Microsoft Word and am sharing it with you today)
Proverbs 14:1 "Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands."
James 3:17 "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy."
Romans 6:17 "But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctorine which was delivered you."
Wisdom from above which can build my house is:
Pure: clean heart
Peaceable: adaptable
Gentle: kind
Easy to be intreated: easily asked (approachable)
Full of mercy: forgiving
Good fruits: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, meekness, faith
Without partiality: fair
Without hypocrisy: true, sincere, real
A mother who wants to build her house, needs wisdom.
We can choose the wisdom of this world or the wisdom of God; from above. Only the wisdom from above will help the house to be built for, the wisdom of this world will pluck it down.
What an encouragement it is to know that God’s yolk is easy, lighter than that of the world.
Finally, we take what we know from our heads and apply it to our hearts, so there will a lasting change. We know God is the only one who can change our hearts (which are desperately wicked), not in the weakness of our flesh
To live with purpose is to recognize that each decision we make affects another life. God has given me a life of many decisions and I hope as I walk this journey, you will be affected to draw closer to God or to seek His gift of salvation.

Love
Last night I had the opportunity to have supper with a long time friend. We laughed about the differences we had in taste when it came to decorating ideas and we shared some of the things God has been teaching us through the pass little while. One thing she mentioned of a speaker at her church said is that we understand in our minds that God loves us but that knowledge needs to go to our hearts so we can really understand, really "GET IT", how much God loves us. Then we need to let that love go to our hands that we may show His love to others.
Do you "Get it"?
I know, if you go to church, you have most likely heard that God loves you. That knowledge is in your mind but, have you fully comprehended HOW MUCH God loves you? We know of the cross, the suffering He experienced to fufill the promise of a Saviour and that should be enough for God to prove His love for us, but have we become so calice and imune to physical and emotional pain that we can not grasp the sacrifice He made?
He not only shows it in His death and resurection but also in everyday life. Have we sat with Him this morning and just let Him kiss our cheek? Did we look at ourselves in the bible, the mirror, to see how short we fall from His holiness? How forgiving and gracious He is? For some, the worst thing they can remember doing is taking a cookie from grandmas cookie jar, for some of us... we can think of many shameful things, none the less, He still loves us. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son". He forgives me daily, hourly even by every minute at times. He is so gracious and willing to restore the relationship. He has gone far beyond the call of duty to show what the meaning of love is. Having known this love of His, by accepting how much we need His gift of salvation and constant guidance and forgiveness helps us to know of His love.
Oh.... I pray that not only you but I, will not only understand the love of God in our minds but also in our hearts. That we will get to know God in such a close way that we will experience and know of His love that we be able to then extend it to others.

What's in time?
God showed this "revelation" to me one day after my workout at the gym.
I had been running on the treadmill and toward the end of my workout, I was anxious to see the "Cool Down" stage of my workout, so I started running faster to just push against the erge of stopping altogether.
Later that morning, as I sat on my bed to start my prayer time, the Lord spoke a phrase to me which I come back to everytime I try to rush life along so I can get to the cooler part of life. He said, "20 minutes is 20 minutes no matter how fast you run." I was stunned to hear Him say that but it was so true. On the treadmill, I can run as fast as I can to fight against the erge to quit but I still have the same time remaining on the clock. The only difference is I feel exausted instead of energized.
Are you doing like me, running as fast as you can so you can get to the "Cool Down" stage of life? Instead, we should be reenergizing ourselves in God's word and by spending time with God; letting Him walk with us through our season to the next?
If you haven't spent time with God today, remember "20 minutes is 20 minutes no matter how fast you run". Stop what you are doing and seek His face, then walk with Him through the season of your life.
Keep walkin'

Forgiveness
Wow! I never thought I could actually hear eyes rolling back in someone's head... arrrrgh... forgiveness;)
Believe me, I do not have the gift of forgiveness but God showed me today in Matthew 18:21, when God tells Peter that he must forgive 70 times 7 for just one person, so I must also, still forgive.
Our flesh hates the thought of it though, doesn't it? It's one thing when we wrongged that person but when we have a clear concience, having done nothing wrong, it's difficult to not be bitter.
I was, very recently, wrongly accused of doing something. It was like a wave that built up inside of me. I'm thankful the Holy Spirit quickly showed me that it was my pride that was swelling up inside of me. I have learnt, the hard way I may say, that when my pride swells up inside I make a BIG, or like a child in Sunday School once said, GINORMOUS, mess of things. I knew what I had to do, swallow my pride and try to understand why this person felt the need to attack me. Thankfully their attack was done through the medium of a letter so I had time to think things through. God must know I'm not practiced enough to be quick on my feet,in order to have a proper response so, he bought me time with the letter. :)
As I prayed, I had a better understanding of what could be the real issue and God helped me to respond properly.
In the end, the person did not retaleate.
Without the Lord Jesus Christ in my life, I could of never done this. He has taught me through His word, Proverbs 15:1 "A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger." and Proverbs 13:10 "Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.". He also knows me better than I know myself. He knows I'm "still in trainning" and does not rejoice in seeing me mess up. Like He said in 1 Corinthians 10:13 "God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." God gave me a way of escape after I recognized my sin of pride. I repented and seeked His face for the way out. He is now helping me to bear that hurt that is still there from the accusation, but I know in time, that too will heal.
I don't always react the way that I did with this particular situation, and when I don't, I feel defeated and carry bitterness in my heart which ends up destroying my day and hurting others around me.
Yes, I can rejoice today in the victory but my journey is not over and I will certainly face another "opportunity to grow". I know that next time I might not have the time to think things through but I pray that God will continue to change me and mold me that I may be more like Him.
Hope you have a victorious day.

What a mom will do for her children
You'll never guess what I found myself doing for my oldest son Samuel. No really, you'll never guess. While at gym (homeschool weekly activity), I sat on the side bench sewing Samuel's jockey strap.... :/ He had a hockey game today after gym and his "cup" would fall out because of the large hole so instead of spending money on another one... I walked into the university gym with my sewing kit, a flashy yellow fishing toolbox, and sewed his jockey strap. Slightly embarrassing.
The other night, I read of another mom who did something that might of been slightly imbarrassing. Read on....
Matthew 20:20"Then came to Him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping Him, and desiring a certain thing of Him. And he said unto her, "what wilt thou?" She saith unto Him, Grant that these my two sons may sit , the one on thy right hand , and the other on the left, in thy kingdom. But Jesus answered and said, "Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" they say unto him, we are able."
(Here's the part where you have the impression maybe she shouldn't of asked that.)
"Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father."
Yikes....
It's easy for us to think she was bold and maybe even a little...duh!... to ask something like that because, we know what cup Jesus is reffering to ("let this cup pass from me" in the Garden of Gathsemeny). Are we not a little bold and ...dumb... sometimes?
It's good to want to serve God more and want to be closer to Him but like a friend once told me, "when before the Lord, it's best to come in low". We need to come before God humbly and trust Him with our welfare.
I highly suggest you bring your children's needs and future before God in prayer. They face a world that is ungodly, uncaring and violent. May I suggest to pray that God would give them a servants heart; wanting to put other before themselves, a desire for more of Him, descernement for choosing the right friends and future mate and most of all an understanding of God's free gift of salvation?
Remember your children when coming before the Lord.

The weekend, not much rest...
Here we are, Saturday evening, and I don't feel rested at all. I feel like I've caught up with the housework, but I feel worn down and bitter.
Being a stay at home mom with four children, three of which I homeschool; Marielle is still a little young turning 3 on Monday, housework does not get the attention it could otherwise. I am particular about it, so I keep the house clean as for, wash clothes, sweep, clean up, fold clothes ect. but the vaccuming gets done on weekends, so does the floor get washed, the bathroom gets a full cleaning instead of just the "swipe and swish", the dusting gets done etc.
I also find there's a difference in my emotional and spiritual strength on weekends. During the week , I spend a good time in prayer and in God's word. I say this to say that I get showered with God often in the day during the week but on weekends I tend to not spend much time in His word nor in prayer but more on housework. I can really feel the difference too. When will I learn?
Tonight, I will spend time with Him, I'm sure I'll feel better in the morning.

Any ground surface
Habakkuk 3:19 says, "The Lord God is my strength and He will make my feet like hinds feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places."
A hind is the female of the red deer. Their hooves are made to walk on different ground like swamps and in the mountains. They have special muscles in their legs to help make them jump just as far no matter the type of terrain they are on.
How interesting!
Today is nothing much more than an encouragement to lean on God and trust in Him so He may be your strength and help to get you through the type of terrain in this season of your life.
I know that this is just what I needed today. Thank you Lord.
Keep walking.

Prayer
I remember when I first was saved, I approached a godly woman who lead our bible studies, and asked, "Why should we pray if God already knows what we need and want? Shouldn't He decide to give it or not? Shouldn't we just wait for it?" She had but a short answer. " When we come to our Father to ask him for needs, we show Him our faith."
Last night, as I read God's word, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. This is the passage I was reading. Matthew 17:1-7 "And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud which said, this is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. And when the disciples; heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid."
Here we have two men, Moses and Elias, whom God thought much of, obviously. I can't help but think, there they were, just sitting with God himself, "chatting". Have you ever had those moments with God? Are you too afraid to do what it takes in your life to be able to have that sweet fellowship with God?
I am not even close to what Moses and Elias where but, I have been blessed to have that type of fellowship with God. Sometimes, I just sit on my bed, about to start my time alone with the Lord, and I can do nothing else but take a deep breath and sense His presence. It is so sweet that often I can't utter a word. Just thinking about it gives me a peace.
I then couldn't help to notice the effect it had on Peter, James and John. They were freaked out after they heard the voice of God. We want so much to know God's direction and leading yet when we hear His voice, we "freak out"! We are so attached to our own will that it scares us to submit to His voice and leading.
After reading this, I went to Isaiah 59:1-4 which says, "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity."
It is clear that when there is sin in our life, God does not want to hear our prayers. I ask you, could it be, for this reason, we do not have answers to any prayers, or have the sweet fellowship that Moses and Elias had, because of unforgiven sin in our life? The bible says yes.
I was challenged to first of all make sure my life is clean before my righteous and Holy God so that I may more often have that sweet presence of God while I'm alone with Him. I was also challenged to desire that sweet fellowship that my life may be transfigured, having a impact on others.
I challenge you to, as 2 Corinthians 13:5 says, "Examine yourselves", if you don't remember of any sin in your life that might not be confessed, ask God to show you, believe me, He will. If you are not a child of God, born again, saved, you need to get that settled because the fact that you are a sinner, you are seperated from God.

Another Journey Begins
I had a friend who once told me that she loved "hanging out" with me because, there was ALWAYS an adventure! I must admit, that comment is mostly true. I'm often wondering where God is taking me next.
As the introduction to my blog says, I believe that every decision we make will affect others, whether for good or bad, and we must take responsability for them.
I live my life with reason; I want my life to matter at the end of it all. I don't want to lay in my coffin, with a few people visiting, not having many nice things to think back on. I want my life to have a positive impact on people. Every person I come in contact with, I hope, feel important and cared for. I want to help people see that they too can take another step towards that mile that seems unreachable. That life is worth living and can be abundant no matter the circumstances. Yes.... I have been accused of being an "eternal positive extremist" lol
Even as I speak, I'm walking through a path in my life that is discouraging and emotionally drainning but, I know my God is with me and He wants me to be still so He can do the work. Notice I said HE can do the work. I often have to be still twice; the first time to actually take my hands off the situation then a second to let Him do the work. His timing is not ours.
It gives me peace to know that I am not in control of my life.
Have you ever gone somewhere via the train? You have no clue which city you're stopping at, this time, and it seems like you'll never get to your destination but if you trust the train conductor to take you to the planned destination, you can sit back and relax until it's time to "disembark" and be greeted by your host.
Life can be full of disappointments and hardships or, it can be abundant and full of learning opportunities.
I hope my journey will be an encouragement to either sit back and let conductor take you to your destination or help you recognize your need for a Saviour and friend.
Stay moldable.
